Fieldwork Task 4

Task 4 was based off of information from chapters 4 and 5 of the textbook. This task required us to observe the classroom, while focusing on the individual needs of the student.  During my observation in the classroom I noticed that all of the students learned at different paces and were at different levels.  The teacher was well prepared for each student in her class and had materials to support their individual needs.  When observing her lesson plans I saw that she gave out visual aides to certain students, had manipulatives for hands on learners, hand written instructions with clear expectations, and was verbally explaining everything during the lessons.  She circulated around the room individually helping certain students that required more attention.  Students completed their work in different ways depending on their learning abilities.  For example some students created pictures to represent their answers and work on the specific topic, some students created a structure with specific manipulatives given for that lesson, and some wrote down their answers.  I found this to be really impressive since each student learns at a different pace and in a different way.  I really enjoyed how the diversity of the class seemed to be well taken care of and each student had an outlet to complete their work, which best fit their needs.
